Tweak #2 of our chili recipe
First off, the first tweak didn’t develop in taste as I had hoped. The flavours were much weaker one day later and I’m not talking about the heat. I suspect that we were too ravenous last night and allowed our stomachs to discern the taste which of course is totally not ok
In my last post, I was thinking of making a fusion chili because of my background. I won’t tell you the secret ingredient yet but I can tell you the result – it’s funky. That’s the only way to describe it! I can’t decide if I like it or not! It takes some getting used to and I could see myself making it again, but only for yours truly. I don’t think the general public is ready for this yet!
Onto logistics! I was told that 10L of chili isn’t enough to feed the crowd and that I’d need double the amount! Now I have to be creative. I think I’ll have to make 3 batches of chili. The problem is that we don’t have enough pots for this and if I make 3 batches then it’s going to be different each time, even if I follow the recipe to the letter! What will the chili taste like when we combine the different batches at the competition site?
