Enoteca review – don’t waste your money here
Hubby and I had been to this restaurant before and we had a coupon for cold cuts and 2 glasses of wine for 200 crowns. A good deal and the cold cuts were the best I’ve ever had. We were well taken care of by the attentive wait staff so I couldn’t wait to come back and try some “real” food. Luckily, Bookatable has a deal – 50% off their food menu and here we are.
I had booked a table for 8 persons for 7pm. I got a call around 4pm asking for confirmation. I thought this was great as they seemed to have everything in control.
The restaurant was almost full at 7pm. The wait staff seemed a bit harried. I asked them to close the door as it was quite cold and she gave me a look before agreeing to do so.
When we asked for the menu, we were told at look at the blackboard. Unfortunately, what was available there was half of what’s on their menu. Unacceptable! On Bookatable.com, the deal was 50% off their menu. I was looking forward to the osso bucco and all of a sudden, I had to go for something else.
Enoteca means wine cellar but unfortunately, we HAD to ask for the wine menu! It was then one of our group said that she wasn’t allowed to taste the wine before buying a glass! Again unacceptable! It turned out the wine that she had was old!!!
The food didn’t come out at the same time. 2 risottos were missing. Apparently, the cook couldn’t read the waitress’ handwriting. Pitiful! One girl decided to take the scampi pasta instead, same as my dish, and the homemade pasta was lumpy and some still uncooked! The dish was really salty as well. The risotto, when it did come, was still crunchy! Shameless!
More than half of us didn’t enjoy our food and we decided to complain. The waitress came back to us with an offer of free coffee. Unacceptable! What should’ve happened was that the manager should’ve come over right away and apologized! We couldn’t accept the dismal offer and asked to talk to the manager. He finally came over and I had to explain the situation in detail before he finally asked what he could do to make us happy! I pointed out that free dessert would help. I should’ve said free meal because what we had was crappy!
The restaurant gets one star for the delicious desserts! That’s it!
Would I ever come here again? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! And I will tell everyone I know what happened here! I think that restaurants often dole out discounts to bring in new customers but they never think about increasing their staff so their food and service suffer as a result! And they acquire a bad reputation because of it! Dumb and dumber!
The toilet was clean!
