Hung Tao – review
We ate really well the last time we were at Queensway (Kam Tong) that we decided to come back to the area for some comfort food. I was craving some congee and saw that Hung Tao has it so it wasn’t a hard choice choosing this resto.
We took a look at the menu posted outside the resto and a peek at the open kitchen. It looked reasonably clean and all seemed to be in order.
I choose the pork and thousand year egg congee. It came in a huge bowl and was piping hot and very flavourful. All for under £5. The only thing I wasn’t crazy about was the pork. It came in large pieces and looked and tasted a bit strange.
It was a day of food indulgance so only half a duck would do. Note that hubby hates duck and I didn’t want to limit myself to one portion. Anyway, the duck that we got was alot of duck. I’ve been to other restos where half a duck was half of this portion! The sauce was a bit too salty but the duck was perfect – skin not too fatty and the flavourful meat.
Hubby ordered the shrimp wonton soup and he was delighted with it. I had a taste and had to agree that it was just a tad more satisfying than my congee. I know, food envy again!
All in all, we were very happy with our visit here. The food came in large portions.
The toilet was clean!
