Bistro Rigoletto – review
First of all, I have to rant about this year’s Restaurant Week. All of a sudden, they increased the price to 250kr (from 200kr) for 2 dishes! Highway robbery I say!
So from the meager list of what was on offer, I chose to go to only one resto this year as supposed to close to 10 last year! As I happen to go past Rigoletto on my way to work and have always wondered about their food, it was high time that I went.
We were here on the 10th, a Monday and the resto was half full at 6:30pm. There was a red carpet event next door with Peter Magnusson’s film so there was quite a lot of traffic on the street.
What got me hooked enough to make a reservation here even though I was generally boycotting this year’s Restaurant Week as the deep fried oysters! Boy, it was the right decision! These came with soy sauce marinated roe, cucumber, and a hollandaise sauce. It was very yummy!
For the main, I chose the bouillabaise and it was acceptable! The stock, which should’ve been the main attraction, was bland. If it wasn’t for the fabulous aioli, this dish would’ve failed miserable even though there was a good portion of fish and seafood.
Hubby’s steak tartare was the star of the evening and I was eyeing his plate the whole time and stealing morsels from it. The dish was very well seasoned and the fries were heavenly. A clear winner! I didn’t taste his salad because he totally devoured it before I had a chance to have a taste!
All in all, a fair evening but I would definitely come back for the steak tartare as it was excellent.
