Indian Garden – review
I’ve heard alot about Indian Garden and have wanted to try it for a long time now. I should’ve waited longer!
We were a group of three girls on a Friday night at 6:30p.m. The resto was packed which boded well. There were plenty of servers around and everyone looked to be having a good time.
I ordered the lamb dopiaza balti (top image) because this is my litmus test for Indian restos. Too bad it failed! My dish was very good except for the excessive salt – so much so that I could only eat half of it. This from a big eater! The naan bread was good and the mango lassi better. I had a taste of my friend’s shrimp dish and it was much better. Another friend had the chicken thali and it was fine.
The service was hit and miss. They didn’t refill our water until the end of the meal and when the server was filling my glass, another friend reached out her glass to him but he just walked away.
I’ve tried several Indian restos in town (Bollywood, Indiska källaren, etc.) and it’s always been hit-and-miss. Some dishes are excellent while others are meh! It’s not pleasant when someone in the group isn’t enjoying their food. I think I’ll slave at home over a hot stove the next time I crave Indian food!
