Air fried green beans

We just bough an air fryer and it’s my favorite kitchen appliance at the moment hands down! We’ve made fries, sweet potato fries, fried chicken legs, chicken thighs, blistered red bell peppers and blistered green beans. It’s this last dish that I want to talk about today.

Deep fried green beans is a common dish in Chinese cuisine. Unfortunately, I don’t eat it very often as it is deep fried. This was one of the major reasons why we bought an air fryer because I just love the gnarly dried beans that come from the fryer.

The sauce for this dish is pretty basic as the star of the show is the beans. You can add ground meat to this dish to make it a main meal instead of a side.

  • 300g green beans, ends removed
  • 1 clove garlic, pressed
  • 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1/2-1 teaspoon black vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon water

Step 1

Air fry the beans at 200 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes or until browned.

Step 2

In the meantime, fry the garlic in some chili oil until fragrant. Add the rest of the ingredients and cook until slightly thickened.

Step 3

Toss the beans in the sauce.

Step 4

Serve over plain steamed rice. Enjoy!
