French colonisation has produced some tasty treats in Vietnamese cuisine. Banh mi is very popular in the West and we have them to thank for it! Vegetarians are usually content with having pickled vegetables as a filling in their banh mi.
Another filling for the banh mi is grilled lemongrass pork.
- 300gr Char siu (Chinese bbq pork)
- 4 small baguettes
- Spring onions
- Soy sauce
- Peanut sauce*
- Pickled vegetables
- Fresh chilies, chopped (optional)
