Candied almonds

We recently made this for a potluck and it was a big hit! They’re very addictive and hard to stop eating once you start.
Ingredients
- 2 egg whites
- 2 tablespoons water
- 500gr whole almonds
- 250mL white sugar
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground cloves
Method
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 140 degrees Celsius. Line a baking sheet with baking paper. . Spread the almonds out on the prepared baking sheet.
Step 2
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the egg white and water until frothy.
Step 3
In a separate bowl, mix together sugar, salt, cinnamon and cloves. Transfer the sugar mixture to a 3L plastic bag.
Step 4
Add the almonds to the egg mixture and stir to coat the nuts evenly.
Step 5
Remove the almonds from the wet mixture and put them in the sugar bag. Shake the bag until the nuts are coated with the sugar mixture.
Step 6
Bake at 140 degrees Celsius for about 1 hour. Stir after 30 minutes.
Step 7
Remove from the oven and allow to cool for about 30 minutes. Go nuts! :D
