Ever wonder how the street gawkers in Asia get their pineapples so pretty looking? Ever get annoyed when you’re eating pineapple and bit into an “eye”?

This is the main difference between how a pineapple is cut in Asia and the West. In the West, a thick part of the shell is removed in order to remove the eyes as well. As people are poor in Asia and they seldom waste anything, a thin layer of the shell is removed and then the eyes are removed by cutting at an angle.

You can use the pineapple in avocado/pineapple ice cream.

Pineapple is great eaten as a snack with a dash of salt. Yum!
