This recipe is very simple and requires just lemongrass and pandan leaves. You could spice it up with ginger, vanilla, a tea bag, etc. but why bother when it is perfect enough as is 🙂

Make this tea when you need to freshen up your kitchen from smelly food. The fragrance of lemongrass and pandan is irrisistable!

  • 3 stalks of lemongrass
  • 2 pandan leaves
  • 1.2L water
  • sweetening agent (optional)

Step 1

Remove the hard ends and the outer layers of the lemongrass stalks. Crush them with a heavy object or a hammar 🙂

Step 2

Wash the pandan leaves. Tie them up in a knot. This is to bruise the leaves to release the oil in them.

Step 3

Fill up a pot with 1.2L of cold water. Add the pandan and lemongrass. Bring to a boil then lower the heat and simmer for 20 minutes.

Step 4

Remove the pandan and lemongrass. Sweeten the tea if desired.

Step 5

Serve hot or cold.
