Light and fluffy Yorkshire pudding

I love Yorkshire pudding!!! For some reason, this is a very comforting food for me. I love to eat it with just gravy or use it as a bread and stuff lots of meat inside!

This is such an easy recipe to remember as the quantity is the same for each ingredient! The key to success is a hot oven and that you have to warm up your pan first before pouring in the batter.

  • 4 eggs
  • 375mL milk
  • 375mL flour
  • Oil or lard
  • Salt and pepper to season

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius

Step 2

Combine the eggs, milk, flour, salt and pepper until you have a smooth batter. Pour the batter into a jug for easy pouring

Step 3

Grease a muffin tray with 1 teaspoon of oil or lard.

Step 4

Place the greased tin in the oven until the oil is smoking.

Step 5

Remove the smoking tin from the oven and quickly pour the batter into the muffin tins, almost to the rim.

Step 6

Bake in the top half of the oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden.

Step 7

Serve hot with gravy.
