Peanut hoisin sauce

This sauce is very versatile and goes well with just about anything – in your banh mi, dipping sauce for your summer rolls, as a marinade for your meats, etc. The possibilities are endless!

Avoid the Lee Kum Kee brand as this hoisin has a reddish colour that makes it look very unappetizing and the taste is not all that good either. So any brand that is brown in colour would do fine.

You can use crunchy peanut or smooth, it’s your choice! Or garnish the sauce with some salted peanuts, as in the pic here! 🙂

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Method

Step 1

Mix all ingredients well.

Step 2

Serve as a dipping sauce or use as a marinade. Enjoy
